Peerroll

Features

The people-ops pieces operators run every week.

Directory, a light hiring board (openings and an applicant pipeline — not a recruiting suite), invite email, org chart, time with punch evidence, PTO, a shared calendar of approved leave, light benefits admin (plans and enrollments on the file — not a carrier platform), payroll hours handoff, custom reports you can save and run (optional schedule — not a BI tool), mobile employee self-service, an installable web app on the home screen, e-sign onboarding packets, a document library on the employee e-file, documents, onboarding task workflows with reminders, offboarding checklists (not a full IT suite), manager tools, manager digests (daily or weekly — email when mail is configured), light performance (goals and simple reviews — not a talent platform), HR-only notes, in-app help, and roles. Looking for one of those? Ask Peerroll — site search in the corner — answers or opens the real page. This is the product — not a poster of a roadmap.

People directory

One employee record. Searchable. Owned.

Name, job, site, manager, documents, and status sit on a single file. The directory is how you find someone — not a Friday export from payroll.

Hiring board

Job openings and a pipeline — not a recruiting suite.

Operators post a role. Applicants sit on that opening. You move them through a simple pipeline. That is a light ATS: openings and a board. Not sourcing, not a career site, not a full recruiting product.

Invite email

A set-password link to the work email — or copy it when mail is off.

Operators invite from the roster. When mail is configured, Peerroll sends the set-password link to the work email on the file. When mail is off, you copy the link and hand it over. This is invite and system mail — not a marketing list.

Org chart

Reporting lines you can see, not a slide from last quarter.

The tree is built from the manager on each employee file. Search a name, expand or collapse a branch, switch to a list on a phone, and click through to the record.

Time and attendance

A punch should carry evidence.

Clock in and out with device, source IP, and location on the punch. Exceptions stay visible to the manager who has to sign them.

PTO and time off

Leave that follows a policy, not a memory.

Accrual rules, request workflows, and balances live on the person. Managers approve what they can see. Operators set a policy once.

PTO calendar

Who is out, on a shared calendar of approved leave.

Approved vacation and sick time land on a team calendar. Managers and operators see coverage for the week. Pending requests stay off the grid until someone signs them. Plan names and enrollments live on benefits.

Benefits admin

Plans and enrollments on the file — not a carrier platform.

Operators name the plans the company already offers. Enrollment sits on the employee record. That is light benefits admin — not shopping, not a carrier file, not open enrollment as a broker.

Payroll hours handoff

Approved hours leave as a file, not a Friday reconstruction.

Managers close the week. Operators export approved hours and approved PTO to the payroll system the employer already uses — CSV or an API payload. Peerroll does not run payroll.

Custom reports

Save an ops report. Run it. Schedule it if you want.

Operators save a cut of roster, hours, or leave they already run. Run it again next Monday. Optionally put it on a schedule. This is not a BI tool.

Documents

Files on the record, not in a drive named HR_SHARE.

Offer letters, handbooks, I-9 packets, and signed acknowledgements attach to the employee. Access follows the same roles as the rest of the product.

Document library

Folders and uploads on the e-file — not a second drive.

The employee e-file is folders on the person: hire packet, I-9, policies, later uploads. Signed packets land there. That is the library. Not a company-wide document management suite.

E-sign packets

A packet you send. A signature in the app. Status on the file.

People ops builds an onboarding packet from templates — offer letter, handbook, I-9 acknowledgement. The employee signs in Peerroll. The file shows sent, signed, or still open, with a trail.

Onboarding and offboarding

Checklists that close because the work closed.

Day-one access, equipment, tax forms, and a first-week plan should not depend on whoever remembered the wiki. Offboarding is the same problem in reverse.

Onboarding workflows

Task checklists and reminders — not a second project tool.

Hire checklists assign work. Reminders fire when a task is due or late. That is the workflow: a list, an owner, a nudge. Not a full automation suite.

Offboarding checklists

A last-day list with owners — not an IT offboarding suite.

Last day writes a checklist. Collect the badge, cut the accounts, keep the file. Owners by role. Remaining work stays visible. This is a task list on exit — not a full IT offboarding product.

Mobile employee self-service

Clock, Time off, and Me — on a phone they will actually use.

Employees and managers get a phone bottom bar: Clock, Time off, and Me. Large punch controls, stacked PTO, and document or onboarding cards. Same record as the desk.

Installable app

Add it to the home screen. Clock, Time off, and Me from an icon.

Employees can install Peerroll as a web app on the phone they already carry. The icon opens Clock, Time off, and Me. This is not a store listing — it is the product they already use, pinned.

Manager tools

Approvals, coverage, and birthday emails that stay private.

Managers get the queue they already run: time exceptions, leave requests, and who is out. Birthday dates stay on the file — not a company-wide calendar.

Manager digests

A daily or weekly summary of what still needs you — when mail is on.

Managers get a digest of pending approvals and open tasks. Daily or weekly. The email goes out when mail is configured. This is team attention mail — not a chat product, not a campaign.

Goals and reviews

Set a goal. Write a simple review — not a talent platform.

Managers set a goal on the employee file. A simple review sits next to it. That is light performance — not calibration, not a nine-box, not a talent suite.

HR-only notes

Private context that does not leak to the team view.

People ops sometimes needs a note that is not for the manager and not for the employee. Peerroll keeps that space on the file — behind a role.

Help and tutorial

Guidance in the product, not a PDF nobody opens.

Employees need to know how to punch and request leave. Managers need to know how to close a week. Peerroll puts a short tutorial and contextual help in the app.

Roles and access

Who can open a file is a product decision.

Operators, managers, and employees do not share a login. Sensitive fields sit behind roles you can explain to counsel — and to the person whose file it is.

People directory

One record per person. Searchable. Owned.

Name, legal data, job, site, manager, employment type, and status sit on a single employee file. The directory is how you find someone, not a weekly export from payroll.

  • Reporting lines so approvals — and the org chart — know where to go.
  • Sites and remote flags for time and PTO rules.
  • Status that reflects hire, leave, and termination, not a cell color.

Employee time tracking

Clock in with location and IP on the punch.

Peerroll treats attendance as evidence. Each punch stores time, device, source IP, and location when the browser or device can provide it. That matters for multi-site teams, field techs, and anyone who has sat through a wage-hour review with a half-complete log.

  • In and out punches, breaks, and manager exceptions.
  • Timesheets that close against the employee record.
  • Site match when you define a yard, floor, or warehouse.
  • On a phone, the same punch is a large Clock control in mobile self-service.

Who can open a file is a product decision.

Operators, managers, and employees do not share a login. Sensitive fields (compensation, medical notes, government IDs) sit behind roles. See roles and access for the day-to-day split, and Security for encryption, backups, and how we talk about HIPAA.
